Road Trip Day 7: Fast times in Tahoe
A well deserved sleepin had been on the cards for a while so with no plans there was a lazy start to the day. We headed to the beach to grab some food and were directed to a great diner called the driftwood where we fueled up for the day.
A quick recon at the surrounding marina's had the team sorted for boat hire the following day. So we headed to the lake, after a swim chris headed of to meet a mate on the other side of the lake. Simon and i were left to relax in the sun and make friends with the locals. About 1o minutes into the conversation we were interupted by 2 very unfootball looking americans who asked if were interested in a game. The girls were keen as was simon and i, then from about 10 yards away (yeah when in rome) we heard that unmistakable aussie accent 'yeah were keen'. So without any knowledge of the game aside from, well its kinda like league and they have that big orance pointer thing to measeure something, simon and I headed over for an education. Each team consided of an aussie, kiwi and an american guy and gal. After a quick rule speah we were running plays and dropping hail mary's into the endzone. Planning the plays was a heap of fun.
Without a doubt the touch down of the game goes to the widereciever catch made by buzz who almost knocked himself out on a pack bench occupied by a few very stunned old ladies.
While our team name was not as good as 'team awesome' we did manage to come away with the win, with that and everyones feet shredded from the shells in the sand, it was time for a swim and sort plans for the night.
With steaks and beers in hand we had a BBQ on the roof of the stardust motel with the team and our new mates buzz and tyson.
After dinner and dropping a box of miller we all set of to hard rock to meet the girls where i realised that i had sent them to meet us at harveys NOT harrahs. They worked out the mistake and after a few drinks we moved on to Blu @ monte Blu $5 entry and 1 dollar drinks. Spent the night hanging out with the new extended crew. home at 5.
